Some companies are having difficulties balancing budgets in order to provide network administrators with the tools needed to monitor/manage their production network, keep up with health care costs, and deal with the overall decrease in cash flow. Open Source cannot directly help you increase cash flow, or deal with health care costs, but it is a great option when looking for tools to manage and monitor your data infrastructure.

Presentation Overview:

Review some of the commonly used tools to facilitate the troubleshooting of network difficulties (and keep yourself sane)
- Configuration Management
- Fault Monitoring / Alerting
- Performance monitoring
- Security Monitoring

Technical details will be kept at a minimum. The objective is to provide everyone with enough information to try some of the tools widely available.
