Speaker Bio's

Andrew “Skinny” Thompson

Network Nija and Server Samurai and sometimes Pointy Haired Boss.  Andrew has been working professionally in the IT industry since 1994.  During that time he has had the opportunity to focus on Unix administration, ISP build and development, desktop management, windows administrator and IT management and everything in-between.  Andrew commonly still uses packet captures and packet analysis to help troubleshoot complex problems.  Andrew’s current day job is Senior Network Engineer at major retailer.

Jorge Paramo

As the person who gets blamed when ANYTHING goes wrong, Jorge has had to figure out a variety of tools to prove the network (or firewall) should not be accused of causing delays... when users cannot remember their own passwords for "the cloud."  Baptized in Linux (Slackware) towards the end of 1994, he has held several IT related positions in the West Michigan area. Currently he works as a Señor Network guy for an automotive supplier.

Dustin Schuemann

Senior network engineer with a strong security and Linux background. Dustin has held various senior positions around West Michigan in the manufacturing and financial sectors since 2000. Dustin fell in love with networking when he had to get a 9600 baud modem working in Linux. Currently he is employed as a dCloud developer at Cisco Systems, Inc.
